DART Courses
Intro to Adventure Riding
Level 1 | $399
DART's one-day introduction to the four cornerstones of adventure riding: Balance, Control, Judgement, and Attitude. They help with bike setup, gear selection, body position, balance basics, clutch/brake/throttle relationship, and traction management.
Skills for Adventure
Level 2 | $995
Ready to level up your off-road skills? This 2-Day course is designed to guide both beginners stepping into dirt riding for the first time and seasoned street riders transitioning to the challenges of off-road terrain. Even experienced riders will discover new techniques to enhance their ability of maneuvering over obstacles and uneven ground.
This course builds a strong foundation in essential skills like balance, body positioning, peg weighting, and clutch control, empowering riders to find stability and flow on unpredictable terrain. Once you’re comfortable with the basics, Ben leads you into more advanced challenges, from handling hills and navigating off-camber sections to recovering from hill fails, surmounting obstacles, and even towing a fellow rider.
Ben’s instruction blends precision and encouragement, making sure you feel supported as you learn to overcome each new obstacle. Whether you’re looking to develop rock-solid fundamentals or take your off-road riding to the next level, this course delivers skills, confidence, and a sense of camaraderie you won’t forget.
Rocks & Sand
Level 3 | $995
This 2-day course gives the rider the skills and experience for riding (and getting unstuck) in deep sand as well as negotiating rocky, steep terrain with confidence. Day One typically begins with applying the skills honed in Level 2, in more challenging terrain and with tighter parameters. We also take braking up a notch by performing maximum performance braking on more challenging terrain and adding an element of urgency beyond what is learned in Level 2.
Competition Skills
Level 3 | $1095
Ever attend rallies with a skills course and wanted to join in, but not sure if you’re quite there yet? Want to develop the techniques critical for low speed technical riding? Looking to compete in the GS Trophy qualifiers or other new emerging competitions?
Ben Dragoo of D.A.R.T. and Kandi Spangler of Moto iKandi have partnered up to bring you a new type of training.
This course is a fun way to finesse your technical abilities that transfer to being a better rider on the trails. Sure, you may be to win a couple competitions along the way, but in the end being a confident, skilled rider will make future adventures so much more fun.

What a fabulous weekend
What a fabulous weekend; one of the best "vacations" of my life. I attended all four days (Level 2 and Level 3), staying in one of the tent sites. Others stayed in yurts, campers, or drove in daily. Showers are available and a new lodge is under construction. Ben Dragoo's instruction (DART) was mature, practical, and well structured. Jamie and James were excellent assistants. As a new rider of only a few months, I came in with only self-taught (YouTube) skills. I was also limited to what I could apply on roads and trails in my area. Other participants had decades of riding experience. I was initially very intimidated, but the program guides students through a progression of skills that elevate both noob and mature riders. I've done a number of technical skill trainings course over the years, including as student and instructor for rock climbing. Too often instructors present an ideal or limited scope of acceptable technique or equipment; everything else is "wrong." For example, a friend of mine was taught that you need a specific (awkward) posture when standing. Or, instructors may insist that bar risers are always wrong. If you just follow "their" rules, you are doing it right. Ben's approach was more relaxed; "ride what you have." This carries through the whole program: practical, approachable, non-judgmental, and patient. This reduces stress and helps participants focus on skill building without shaming from an instructor. The out-ride to the Uinta National Forest on day three of Leve l3 training was the final, in-situ application of all the training. It was a wonderful experience. Grit Moto Adventures ranch is a great facility with constructed and natural terrain that provide safe and effective training stations. Kari's support was excellent. Thank you for putting all together.

6 stars if I could!!!
GRIT, Kari and Ben were absolutely amazing! They are patient when the struggle got real, which several of us were in need of. It does not matter if you are newer to riding off road or have been riding for decades, you will learn some new skills! I highly recommend this course and will be back for the level 3 course.

Utah 6 Day Tour
Riding GRIT Moto’s Fall 2024 Utah! Homebase Tour was an absolutely incredible experience. The roads, the back country off-roads, the landscape and scenery of Utah in the Fall, the accommodations, and the support were all phenomenal. The six day ride included everything they said it would; adventure, camaraderie, challenges conquered by perseverance and team work, and a feeling of accomplishment once over. The rented Yamaha Tenere 700 was one tough powerful bike; perfect for this adventure. Our guides for this tour, Ken (lead), and Curtis (sweep), were great and a joy to hang with after a long day of riding. And boy, do they have stories. It is hard to put into words how great Kari (SAG truck driver, GRIT principal, support dog owner) was. She went above and beyond my expectations for this tour every single day. When it comes to Adventure riding, she is the most passionate person I’ve ever met. I’m sure this passion will drive the success of GRIT Moto Adventures and the GRIT Moto Ranch. Finally, to ride this with my brother, who I had not ridden with in many decades, made this a ‘beyond priceless’ experience. Thank you, GRIT!

Teaching Style
Ben has lived and breathed the D.A.R.T program under his dad throughout his life. And by having the opportunity to witness so many classes and training sessions, Ben is an impressive rider and an even better communicator. Now being certified, he continues to help evolve and push the program and their coaching techniques. He has a unique and extremely personable way of assessing riding techniques and offering tweaks and pointers meant just for you. His students are quickly at ease under his instruction, and inspired by his abilities as a rider. His classes are never a one-size-fits-all, as both Ben and Bill Dragoo are extremely skilled at finding the right balance for each student.
